The purpose of the round table: the idea of Alash — is one of the central ideas of today’s independent Kazakhstan, while the great Kazakh people, whose spirit of Alash marked the entire Kazakh steppe about a century ago, have a distinctive destiny. It calls for taking the trust of Alash to heart, working in a way worthy of it, and respecting the past. Above all, it is a matter of honour — to pass the idea of Alash from generation to generation. The idea of Alash has always developed alongside the Kazakh people as an idea that unites the nation. The path of Alash, the path towards modernising our national consciousness shaped by its courageous figures, is to explain to the younger generation the distinctive strength of the principles underlying our independence today.
