«Best Reader» Mardan Rakhmatulla Received a Rector’s Grant

In 2024, on 2 October, first-year student Mardan Rakhmatulla of the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician Ә.Қуатбеков appeared as a guest on the «Tan Nury» music and information programme on Ontustik television. The new academic year began with particularly happy news for this resident of Zhylandy village in Tulkibas District and regular reader at Tastumsyk village library. Having just left school and entered adult life this year, Rakhmatulla Mardan Қанатұлы won a Rector’s Grant from the university named after Academician Ә.Қуатбеков. Born into a family of teachers, he found it natural to excel in his studies and lead his peers. He succeeds both in reading, which nourishes the mind, and sport, which supports physical health. He has already been named “Tulkibas District’s Best Reader — 2023”, become a regular player on Zhylandy’s volleyball team, and won prizes in football and freestyle wrestling. Hoping to contribute to sport in Kazakhstan, he chose physical education as his future profession. On the morning programme, Mardan Rakhmatulla said: »I associate every achievement and good thing in my life with books. My grandfather taught me to love the library. Our neighbour — Тамаша Османова is the librarian at the Oleg Koshevoy General Education School, from which I graduated this year. Cultural and educational events are frequently held to broaden pupils’ horizons and develop their attention. I am deeply grateful to the Rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician Ә.Қуатбеков, Қуатбекова Рабиға Әбдімұсақызына, for giving me the opportunity to develop my knowledge further». The enthusiastic reader is now studying physical education at the university. He aims to help develop sport in Kazakhstan and become a valued citizen of his country.
