Seminar held to improve students’ digital literacy

Academician Ә.Қуатбеков Peoples’ Friendship University hosted an important seminar on improving students’ digital literacy. It was delivered by employees of the Shymkent branch of Government for Citizens State Corporation, a non-profit joint-stock company.
The seminar aimed to explain how students can obtain public services electronically and develop practical skills in using the eGov.kz portal and mobile applications.
Specialists provided detailed information on the e-government portal’s main services, how to use them effectively and the procedures for obtaining certificates, submitting applications and arranging public services online. They also demonstrated quick and convenient ways to obtain services through mobile applications, using concrete examples.
In the practical session, students logged into eGov.kz with specialists’ assistance and tried accessing various services independently, connecting theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.
Participants asked questions and received specific answers from specialists. Meetings in this format not only improve students’ digital skills but also increase their interest in using modern technologies effectively.
The event is an important initiative for developing young people’s digital culture and making public services accessible and efficient to use.
