Round Table on “24 March — World Tuberculosis Day”

To prevent the spread of tuberculosis among students, a preventive event was held with tuberculosis specialists Botbaibekova Makhabbat and Turganova Bibigul from the pulmonology department of the Regional Clinical Hospital.
Under the requirement for “Preliminary Mandatory Medical Examinations”, everyone must undergo an annual fluorography examination for the early detection and prevention of tuberculosis. The round table discussed signs and early symptoms of tuberculosis and effective ways to treat the disease. Every student is entitled to fluorography and additional examinations at the clinic where they are registered.
The medical specialists also considered eliminating stigma and discrimination in access to prevention, treatment, care and support related to COVID-19, and supporting research and innovation in this area.
In view of changes in the lungs following the COVID-19 pandemic, talks and lectures were held for students, including lectures promoting healthy lifestyles. Booklets and information sheets were distributed.
The main goal is to ensure safety and protection against tuberculosis and COVID:
— maintaining distance;
— wearing a mask;
— a PCR test for tuberculosis (PCR) — taking a GeneXpert PCR test and a COVID-19 test, vaccination.
