BRINGING GLORY TO THE COUNTRY — SAMIRKHON

A student on the degree programme in Physical Education and Sport at Peoples’ Friendship University, SAMIRKHON ABABAKIROV, at the XXXII Summer World Universiade (RHINE—RUHR 2025, Germany) won a gold medal in the weight category under 63 kg in taekwondo and secured the first gold for the medal tally of Team Kazakhstan!  Samirkhon, who confidently defeated in the final a Turkish athlete and brought honour to our country, – is a true champion! In this year’s Universiade there was participation from over 150 countries. The competitions in taekwondo took place in Essen, and they brought together athletes from 77 countries. As a result, the team of Kazakhstan now has: 6 bronze medals, 1 gold medal — a total of 7 medals! This victory by Samirkhon — is the fruit of hard work and determination! We wish him every success both in his studies, and also in sport!
