The Address of Head of State Kassym — Жомарта Токаева to the people of Kazakhstan sets out an important task for Kazakhstan: to make full use of our industrial potential and strengthen the strategic capacity of the national economy. This concerns ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, petrochemicals, automotive manufacturing and mechanical engineering, the production of building materials and food, and other industries. He was the first to speak at the Foreign Investors’ Council meeting and argued that production rates in the oil and gas sector should not decline during the pandemic. To achieve this, it is important to focus on technological modernisation of the oil and gas sector. Therefore, I always focus on the work being done in this area. As an oil-rich country, we must strive to make the most of our existing potential. To ensure the country’s economic growth, it is important that projects at the Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak fields proceed according to schedule. Kazakhstan is rich in oil, and we must use our potential effectively».
The President also stressed the importance of protecting the environment and using natural resources efficiently, the need to apply modern technologies and replace outdated equipment, reduce emissions, prevent oil and gas leaks, ensure transparency among oil and gas companies, and strengthen their environmental responsibility in this work.
Faculty members and students asked questions on the topic of the open lesson and received comprehensive answers. The lesson achieved its goal. It was highly rated by the invited participants: Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Т.Раимбердиев, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering З.Илесов, and Head of the Postgraduate Education Department Б.Омарова.
