A Ceremony for Kazakhstan’s Languages Day Was Held at the Peoples’ Friendship University Named after Academician А.Куатбекова

A ceremony marking the Day of the Languages of the People of Kazakhstan was held at the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician А.Куатбекова. Linguists who had made a significant contribution to language policy were honoured at the celebration. University President Н.А. Куатбеков congratulated Kazakhstan’s people on Languages Day, noting that language is a priceless national asset. Every people’s language encodes centuries of history and culture. Preserving and developing it therefore remains essential to national identity and dignity. The celebration’s purpose is to cultivate love and respect for one’s native language while expanding knowledge of the languages of neighbouring communities. State-level respect for the cultures and languages of all ethnic groups has produced distinctive results. Representatives of every ethnic community consider themselves citizens and patriots of Kazakhstan. While retaining their own national culture and language, they respect Kazakh language and culture as the foundation of unity in the country. University students presented a variety of entertainment programmes during the celebration.
