Head of State Kassym-Жомарт Тоқаев has said that people cannot develop fully in the modern world without books and libraries. University libraries across the country offer both traditional and electronic books. This is a special benefit for readers, allowing them to contact the library at any time and obtain an online version of the textbook they need. The electronic library system of the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician Ә.Қуатбеков, «https://lib-udn.kz», is in a particularly strong position compared with other university libraries. Through links to contracted resources including RMEB, Openu, kitap.kz, the Open University of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan National Electronic Library, Open Library of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Library, lexisnexis and IPR Smart, students and lecturers can find the textbooks they need. The library also uses the Irbis-64 library information system.
At the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician Ә. Қуатбеков, the collections of 4 libraries are rich in books. Services include a reading room for 150 readers, a periodicals reading room, 2 lending departments and an electronic reading room. The library currently employs 5 librarians. The coworking centre also hosts cultural and educational events, round tables and meetings with prominent public figures.
In accordance with the guidelines, the library collection of the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician Ә.Қуатбеков is updated annually with fiction and scientific literature.
