Updating modern degree programmes: innovation and the employer’s perspective
In 2026, on May 6, at the initiative of the Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor Искакова Лаура Тұрлыбекқызының, the department’s staff held an informative seminar on “Updating Modern Degree Programmes: Innovation and the Employer’s Perspective”.
Experienced education specialists and employer representatives attended. Those sharing their experience included Alan International School Principal Ж.А. Тойлыбаева; Principal of Ы. Алтынсарин School-Gymnasium No. 65, А.С. Қайыпов; Deputy Director of the Shymkent Education Department’s Psychological Support Centre Ж.Б. Утесинова; Head of Kindergarten No. 24, Г.Е. Тойбаева; Acting Director of the Music College Е. Абдухайымов; Methodologist at AL-NUR7 Nursery-Kindergarten Г. Ахметова; Psychologist at School-Lyceum No. 23, Д.А. Тойлыбаева; Music Teacher at Ы. Алтынсарин School-Gymnasium No. 65, Г.А. Елжанова; and Primary School Teacher Г.Т. Бекмухамедова.
The seminar examined new subjects as part of programme updates. Participants made specific proposals to include artificial intelligence, inclusive education and work on the Adal Azamat strand of the Unified Character Education programme in degree programmes for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The well-organised event became an effective forum for discussing current educational issues. Important decisions were made to strengthen cooperation between employers and the academic community.
