Cinderella premieres at Peoples’ Friendship University: bringing together art and language learning

On February 23, 2026, Academician А. Куатбекова Peoples’ Friendship University marked a special occasion: the premiere of a unique film-performance based on Charles Perrault’s famous fairy tale Cinderella.
This major cultural event was organised by the teaching staff of the Department of Social Disciplines. First-year students from all of the university’s degree programmes took part in the production.
The creative project’s main aim:
To develop students’ language skills through a theatrical production in Russian, spark interest in the subject and strengthen their commitment to their chosen profession. By the end of the performance, it was clear that this aim had been fully achieved: the students demonstrated competent Russian speech and a high level of acting skill.
The awards ceremony:
A special moment of the evening was the participation of the university’s rector, Р.А. Куатбековой. Praising the students’ talents, Рабига Абдумусаевна encouraged their interest in learning by:
Presenting all performers with special gifts and letters of appreciation.
Wishing the young people creative inspiration and highlighting the importance of such initiatives in education.
The students brilliantly brought the fairy-tale characters to life, giving both the audience and themselves unforgettable emotions and a festive mood. Although this was not the university’s first theatrical premiere, staff and students are eager to create more exciting productions in the future.
