Purpose of the visit: In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician А. Куатбекова and Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology, an exchange of experience in education was carried out. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in training bachelor’s and master’s students, we hope this will improve the preparation of specialists in economics.

The main objective was to work with institutions in strategically important countries and cities and use international opportunities to improve the quality of education, with international cooperation developing and supporting key international partnerships.
The visit to NIET began with a meeting with the institute’s Rector, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor — Mamatkarimov O. O.; Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor — Melibayev U.; Vice-Rector for Innovation and Research, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor — Ergashev O. K.; Matkarimov K. Zh. — Dean, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor; Soliyeva G. A., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor and Head of the Marketing Department; and Head of Agricultural Innovation Merganov A.
Our arrival coincided with an open day, during which the Rector ceremonially presented awards to students who had won first place nationally in the prizes named after the “First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Каримова I. A.”, the “President of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, and “Alisher Navoi”. Our conversation with the NIET Rector revealed interest in further cooperation, exchanges of experience in training, research, joint publications, dissertation reviews, publication of articles in Scopus, seminars and conferences, and other activities.
After meeting the management, we visited the departments and met their teaching staff. The departments’ teaching staff deserve particular attention: all lecturers have academic titles and extensive experience. We exchanged views on training economists to meet modern requirements. Following these discussions, we delivered lectures on “Marketing Medical Services and Ways to Improve It”, “Marketing the Education System in Kazakhstan”, “Introduction to Finance”, and other subjects.
We also visited the institute’s library, reviewed modern teaching facilities for undergraduate and master’s students and lecture halls, and visited the Agricultural Innovation Department to examine the preparation and commercialisation of innovative projects. The department is headed by Merganov A. During our conversation, we learned that it had completed many innovative projects during the reporting period, carried out laboratory analyses, and obtained patents for producing medicinal products from local herbs. These projects could be commercialised through a grant from the national budget, prompting the institute’s management to consider implementing these ideas through joint cooperation.
On 11 April, we had a very productive conversation with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Matkarimov K. Zh. He then asked us to join a meeting with graduating students and employers, attended by managers of local banks in the region. Participants were interested in employment in Kazakhstan’s banking system. Following the exchange of experience and to further develop international cooperation between the universities, it was decided to:
1. Consider cooperation on commercialising innovative agricultural projects.
Exchange experience in staff training, research, joint publications, dissertation reviews, publishing articles in Scopus, organising seminars and conferences, and other activities.
3. Invite to the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician А. Куатбекова Professor — Салиева Ахмаджан to deliver lectures on modern marketing.
Organise joint publication of articles in international journals.
Arrange a visit by our NIET guests for an exchange of experience in 2023-2024.
Finally, all participants received certificates.
We thank the organisers of this meeting and the management of Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology!
We hope the results of this exchange of experience will bear fruit in our future work.
