International Cooperation through External Academic Mobility with Tashkent Financial Institute
As part of international cooperation and external academic mobility, faculty members of the Economics Department were sent from 03.04.2023 to 14.04.2023 to Tashkent Financial Institute in Tashkent, Uzbekistan: — Turtayev M. R., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor; Sabenova B. N., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Senior Lecturer; Berdibekova G. S. — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Senior Lecturer; and Abdurakhmanova Z. A., master’s degree holder, Senior Lecturer.
Purpose of the visit: In accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician А.Куатбекова and Tashkent Financial Institute, the visit involved an exchange of experience in education. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in training bachelor’s and master’s students, we hope this will improve the preparation of specialists in economics.
The main objective was to work with institutions in strategically important countries and cities and use international opportunities to further improve the quality of education, with international cooperation developing and supporting key international partnerships.
On arrival, we met the institute’s Rector, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Teshabayev T. Z., and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Mehmonov S. U. – Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor and the heads of the Economics Department, Assatulayev Kh. S. — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor; the Finance Department, Kobulov Kh. A., — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor; and the Marketing Department — Ochilov I. K., Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. Also present were Nuraliyeva M. M., PhD; Director of International Cooperation Avazkhodzhayev S.; and regional manager Umirzakov Zh.
The discussions revealed interest in further cooperation, exchanges of experience in training, research, joint publications, seminars and conferences.
Our lecturers became acquainted with the institute and its training of undergraduate and master’s students. They visited the Economics, Finance and Marketing departments and studied financial policy, banking, tax policy, management and other areas.
The lecturers also visited the electronic library and reviewed modern teaching facilities for undergraduate and master’s students and lecture halls. They held discussions with lecturers specialising in Marketing and Banking, and learned about the development of scientific and research startup projects and the conditions created to support them.
As part of the exchange, lectures for undergraduate and master’s students were delivered by: Turtayev M. R., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor, in Marketing, on “Marketing the Education System in the Republic of Kazakhstan”; Sabenova B. N., Candidate of Economic Sciences, Senior Lecturer, in Entrepreneurship, on “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan”; Berdibekova G. S. — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Senior Lecturer, in Taxes and Taxation, on “Taxes and Taxation”; and Abdurakhmanova Z. A., master’s degree holder, Senior Lecturer, in Principles of Accounting, on “Conceptual Models of Accounting in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
Following the exchange of experience and to further develop international cooperation between the universities, it was decided to:
Renew the agreement on further cooperation.
Involve our lecturers, undergraduate and master’s students, with their articles and proposals, in the upcoming International Conference on 3 June 2023 in Tashkent.
Organise joint publication of articles in international journals.
Arrange a visit by our guests from Uzbekistan for an exchange of experience in 2023.
Finally, participants received certificates.
