Prize-winning result at an international research competition

On April 16–17, 2026, a student from our university took part in the international engineering student research competition organised by South Kazakhstan Medical Academy JSC and achieved a significant result.
In the Electrical Engineering and Energy Resources category, Darkhanbay Altynbek of group JB711-25, on the 6В07110 Electrical Power Engineering programme, successfully defended his project “Purification of Associated Petroleum Gas Using a Membrane Unit” and received a second-degree diploma.
His research supervisors are K. U. Ilyasova and Zh. A. Akhmedov.
The study examined in detail the importance of rational use of natural resources as the foundation of the energy sector. It focused on removing harmful impurities from associated petroleum gas and substantiated the effectiveness of membrane units in producing purified gas for use as process fuel at CHP-3 and oil refineries.
This achievement demonstrates the student’s strong research potential and his supervisors’ professionalism.
