The Role of Civil Society in the Country’s Development

A meeting with the city’s young people on “Building Civil Society: Experts’ Perspectives” was held in the meeting hall of Shymkent’s Youth Resource Centre. Students studying law, political science, economics, management, public administration, journalism and history gathered to discuss new initiatives, creative ideas and views of students in the 3rd major city.

Speakers included Shymkent city maslikhat deputy Талгат Балтабаев, Shymkent Public Council member Rustem Ашетаев, and Head of the BasQaru Public Foundation Margulan Ermaganbetuly. Participants held lively discussions with students about building civil society and developing local self-government. The organisers helped young people understand the need for civil society and invited them to take an active part.
